- If brake disc shows signs of being skew, check its lateral run out as per Measuring lateral run-out on brake disc .
- If brake disc shows signs of major wear, variations in thickness etc., replace it as per Brake disc rear, replacement.
Note!
Min. disc thickness = replacement point = 8.4 mm (0.33"). Minimum recommended disc thickness when installing new brake pads = 8.9
mm (0.35").
Rear brake pads replacement
Inspection of dirt guard
- Press pistons back with a polygrip or tool 999 2809. Take care to avoid damaging dirt guard.
- Check that dirt guard is positioned properly.
Installation of brake pads
- Grease shim on both sides with a thin layer of silicone grease (PN 116 1325-4).
- Install shim towards brake pad rear plates.
- Install brake pads.
- Install one split pin and retaining spring first, then the other split pin.
Finishing and checking
- If brake pipe was not removed from brake caliper, go to NNNA11.
- If brake pipe was removed from brake caliper, top up and bleed braking system as per Bleeding brakes. Then continue as below.
- Check that there are no leaks and that the brakes are working properly.
Check and adjustment
Press brake pedal down a few times.
Check level in brake fluid reservoir.
Adjust parking brake if necessary as per GGGGA. Parking brake, adjustment.
