Hint: To determine which circuit is faulty, carry out the following:

-

Ignition off.

-

Expose VGLA control module.

-

Disconnect VGLA control module.

For passenger door circuit: connect an ohmmeter between VGLA control module #B5 and ground.
For left rear door circuit: connect an ohmmeter between VGLA control module #B6 and ground.
For right rear door circuit: connect an ohmmeter between VGLA control module #B7 and ground.
The doors must be closed when the reading is taken.

NOTE:  The ohmmeter should read infinite resistance.

If the passenger door circuit displays an incorrect value select alternative 1. If the left rear door circuit displays an incorrect value select alternative 2. If
the right rear door circuit displays an incorrect value select alternative 3.

Expose passenger door lock unit.

-

Disconnect the black connector from the lock unit.

Connect an ohmmeter between VGLA control module connector #B5 and ground.

If the ohmmeter reads infinite resistance, the door switch in the lock unit is faulty. Replace lock unit.

If the ohmmeter reads approximately 0 [ohm], check:
On left-hand drive cars the cable between VGLA control module #B5 and the lock unit black connector terminal 1 for a short-circuit to ground
according to Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults On right-hand drive cars the cable between VGLA control module #B5 and the lock
