About the S80
The S80 replaced the rear-wheel-drive S90 as Volvo's flagship saloon for the 1999 model year and was made until 2016. It introduced the P2 platform and was built at Torslanda in Gothenburg. The second generation, from the 2007 model year, earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick with "good" ratings in frontal, side and rear impacts.
What these manuals cover
- 1999–2005 (first generation): the 2.9-litre straight-six, the T6's 2.8 and 2.9 twin-turbo sixes, and the 2.5 turbo five with front- or all-wheel drive.
- 2007–2011 (second generation): the 3.2-litre straight-six and the 4.4-litre V8 with all-wheel drive.
