Removal

Preparatory work

Remove:

-

the center console. See Center console, replacing See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center Console,
Replacing

the gear selector lever knob. See Gear selector lever knob, replacing, B5254T2, M56 See: Gear Selector Lever Knob, Replacing.

Removing the gear selector cable from the ball joint

Remove the gear selector cable from the ball joint.
Use puller999 7071 Puller See: Tools and Equipment/999 7071 Puller.

Hint: The screw on the puller is turned counter-clockwise to pull the gear selector cable loose.
