Removal

Disconnect the battery ground cable. See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery, Disconnecting

Warning! Do not use measuring equipment on the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electrical connector.
Warning! A pyrotechnical SRS component must never be unscrewed, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.
Remove the parcel shelf. Refer to: Parcel shelf See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Rear Shelf/Service and Repair.
Remove the electrical connector.
Torque: Safety belt retractor rear to body, 40 Nm
Installation
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Check the safety belt function. Refer to: Seat belt function, check See: Testing and Inspection.
Carry out an inspection. Refer to: Supplementary restraint system (SRS), inspection See: Testing and Inspection.
