Replacing heated oxygen sensors (HO2S)

Removal

Warning!

The exhaust system and three-way catalytic converter (TWC) may be very hot.

Warning! 

Use protective goggles when drilling.

Removing the center member

Remove the screws.
Drill out the rivets.
Remove the center member.
Remove the flange between the exhaust pipe and three- way catalytic converter (TWC).
Remove the rubber pads for the exhaust pipe mounting on the rear member.

Pull the rubber pads from the mounting points. This is so that the boots on the three-way catalytic converter (TWC) will not be damaged.

Caution!

Ensure that the mobile jack does not damage the three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Exhaust emissions may be affected if the three-way catalytic
converter (TWC) is damaged.
