Brake Hose/Line: Procedures
Brake Pipes And Hoses, Remove/Install
Removing brake pipes and hoses
Several components have to be removed to allow the removal of brake pipes and hoses. These include heat shields, air-filter housing, etc.
Front:
-
Raise the car to lift the wheels off the ground.

The brake and fuel pipe clip is screwed to a threaded stud in the bodywork at the front.

Press the clip down while loosening the nut.
Rear:
-
remove the wheels
Cleaning brake pipes and hoses
Brake pipes and hoses should be cleaned before installing.
Rinse the pipes with clean brake fluid or denatured alcohol and clean them with dry, filtered compressed air.
Installing brake pipe
Bend the brake pipes to the correct shape, so that they can be installed without putting them under tension.
Torques:
-
brake pipe on brake hoses front 15 Nm, rear 29 Nm.

brake pipe on master cylinder and ABS system 14 Nm.
Installing brake hoses
Always use new sealings.
The hoses must not to be twisted after installation.
Torques:
-
brake hose on brake pipe 14 Nm.
-
brake hose on brake caliper front 15 Nm, rear 29 Nm.
Bleeding brake system
Bleed the brake system.
