Ignition off

Clean the master cylinder and the area around it

-

Place cloths or paper under the master cylinder to protect painted surfaces from the brake fluid

-

Press the brake pedal several times until it becomes stiff. This is to eliminate the remaining vacuum in the system

-

Drain the brake fluid reservoir.

Removing the master cylinder

Remove:

-

The hose for the clutch cylinder. Plug the hose

-

the connector for the brake fluid level sensor

-

the two brake pipes from the master cylinder. Plug the brake pipes

-

the 2 nuts

-

the master cylinder from the power brake booster.

The brake fluid reservoir

Transfer the brake fluid reservoir according to  Brake fluid reservoir, Remove/install See: Brake Fluid Reservoir/Service and Repair.
