Thermostat: Procedures
Checking/Replacing The Thermostat
Draining coolant
Drain off approximately 2 liters of coolant.
Removing the thermostat

Turbocharged engines: remove the throttle body (TB) cover.

Remove the cover over the fuel rail
-
Remove the upper timing cover.
-
Remove the thermostat housing cover (Torx 40 screws). Lift out the thermostat and the gasket.
