Expansion Valve: Removal and Replacement

Expansion valve

Introduction

Warning! Follow the safety precautions when working on the climate control system.

Note! Read the instructions about slow and large leaks.

Note! Always use new O-rings lubricated with air conditioning (A/C) compressor oil.

Note! Always plug pipes and connectors when working on the climate control system.

Removing expansion valve

-

Remove the evaporator according to  Evaporator See: Evaporator Core/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement 

-

Disconnect the connections from the expansion valve. Use two wrenches

-

Remove the insulation

-

Remove the temperature sensor from the pipe (clip)

-

Remove the expansion valve.
