Disconnect the transmission cable from the gear selector assembly.
Use flat-nosed pliers to remove the cable pin.

Remove:

-

the 4 screws for the gear selector assembly

-

the clips for the cable harness (from the reverse). Disconnect the connectors

-

the gear selector assembly.

Caution! Take care not to bent the transmission cable.

Installation

Installing gear selector assembly and transmission cable

Certain models have a keylock and a shiftlock solenoid.
Install the keylock cable according to  Replacing the key lock cable, AW55-50/51SN See: Shift Interlock/Shift Interlock Cable/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement.
Installing the shiftlock solenoid and micro-switch according to  Replacing the shift lock solenoid and micro-switch, AW55-50/51SN See: Actuators and
Solenoids - A/T/Shift Interlock Solenoid/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.

Install:

-

the gear selector assembly (4 screws). At the same time locate the cable in the gear selector assembly.

Tighten to:  25 Nm

Caution! do not damage the cable or sleeve by bending it excessively

-

the clips for the cable harness (from the reverse). Install the connectors

-

the cable sleeve in the gear selector assembly and press it into place

-

the cable on the gear selector with the pin.

Caution! Take care not to damage the cable or sleeve by bending it excessively.
