Tailgate wiper mechanism and motor

Preparations

-

Switch on the ignition.

-

Check that the wiper motor is in the parked position.

Switch the rear windshield wiper on and off.

If the wiper motor is not functioning, see  Replacing the tailgate wiper motor.

Switch off the ignition.

Removing the tailgate wiper mechanism

-

Open the wiper arm cover.

-

Slacken off the nut. Unscrew it a few turns to protect the thread on the wiper mechanism spindle.

-

Remove the wiper arm from the wiper arm mechanism by supporting a pipe wrench on the nut and pressing off the arm.

-

Remove the wiper arm.
