Slacken off the brake hose half a turn

Remove:

-

the brake pads. See: Brake pads rear See: Disc Brake System/Brake Pad/Service and Repair/Brake Pads Rear 

-

the brake caliper

-

the parking brake cable.

Unscrew the caliper from the brake hose.

Note! Collect the brake fluid.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. See: Specifications/Tightening Torque

Install

-

the brake hose in the brake caliper. Do not fully tighten the hose yet

-

the parking brake cable

-

the brake pads. See: Brake pads rear See: Disc Brake System/Brake Pad/Service and Repair/Brake Pads Rear 

Tighten the brake hose. See  Tightening torque See: Specifications/Tightening Torque.

Note! Check the brake hose. Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted. If the brake hose is twisted, there is a risk of circuit failure.

Finishing

Fill and bleed the brake system

Remove the pedal jack.
To bleed the brake system, see: Brake system bleeding See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair/Brake System Bleeding.

Note! Use only Genuine Volvo brake fluid, Volvo DOT 4+.

Check:

-

the function of the brakes after bleeding. Check that there is no leakage
