Engine Oil Pressure: Testing and Inspection
Oil pressure test
Special tools:

Note! When checking the oil level and oil pressure, the engine should be at normal operating temperature which corresponds to 15 minutes
normal driving (100°C / 212°F). If the oil quality and type or oil filter condition cannot be determined, replace the oil and filter.
Removal
Removing components
Raise the vehicle.
Remove:
-
the lower engine cover
-
the plug for the oil pressure channel in the cylinder block.
Checking the oil pressure
Use: 999 5270 OIL PRESSURE METER See: Tools and Equipment/999 5270 Oil Pressure Meter. Connect the tool to the oil pressure sensor's channel
on the cylinder block. Start the engine and read off the oil pressure at different engine rpms.

Installation

Installing components
Install:

the plug for the oil pressure line in the cylinder block. Use anewgasket. Tighten. See Specifications. See: Specifications/Mechanical
Specifications/Tightening Torque

the lower engine cover
Finishing
Start the engine. Check for leakage.
