Preparatory work

Ignition off.

Preparations and adjusting the mechanical cable

Note! Remove the air cleaner (ACL) housing. See Transmission cables, replacing, B5244T5, M66 See: Service and Repair.

Remove the ball joint for the inner cable from the side lever. Use jimmy tool 999 7077 Jimmy bar See: Tools and Equipment/999 7077 Jimmy Bar.
Release the adjuster on the cable.
Check that the gear selector lever is in neutral.
