Motor and Potentiometer In Backrest, Replace

Replacing the motor and potentiometer in the backrest

Removing:

Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.

Remove:

-

battery negative lead (disconnect).

-

seat from car. See "Replacing Seat Assembly."

-

upholstery. See "Backrest Uphostery Replacement."

-

protective pad.

-

screw securing motor.

-

Remove locking washer from drive shaft.

-

Pull out the drive shaft as far as the motor with the p0tentiometer can be slackened oft.

-

Disconnect motor and potentiometer connector. Remove potentiometer from motor using a screwdriver.

NOTE: Check the position of potentiometer on motor before removing.

-

Replace motor/potentiometer.

-

Join motor and potentiometer.

-

Assemble in reverse order.
