Seat Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair
Front Seat Belt Buckle and Seat Belt Tensioner - Replacement

Replacement Requirement 

After a collision in which the SRS system has been activated. Always replace both seat belt tensioners and buckles, even if there was no passenger in
the passenger seat.

Removing Front Seat Storage Compartment

Front seat as far forward as possible.

-

Remove seat storage compartment by lifting up its front edge and pushing it back.

The figure shows a mechanical front seat.

For power seat: 
Disconnect connector from power seat control module. The control module is located under the seat.

Secure The SIPS-bag 

NOTE:  If the seat is not equipped with a SIPS-bag, continue with EH3.

WARNING:  If the front seat is equipped with a SIPS bag this must be secured before starting work. Use the transport safety device in the
holder on the inside of the seat compartment cover on the inside of a SIPS seat. Never apply external force to side of seat.
