Remove the gear selector knob as follows:
Stand astride the center console. Grasp the gear selector lever knob with both hands. Pull it straight upwards with a hard jerk.
Removing the panel

Removing the top panel
Remove the top panel in accordance with Boot, gear selector, replacing See: Boot, Gear Selector, Replacing (-2004) or in accordance with: Gaiter, gear
selector, replacement (2005-).
Installation
Installing the gear selector knob
