XC70 L5-2.5L Turbo VIN 59 B5254T2 (2003)
Angle up the insulation panel.
Remove the screw holding the cover and shock absorber.
Raise the car.
Remove:

the wheel
-
the spring strut from the lower control arm.
Note! The spring struts are slightly compressed.
Lowering the rear suspension
Remove the parking brake cable mounting in the sub-frame on both sides.
Remove:

the exhaust system from the three-way catalytic converter (TWC) and rearward. See Exhaust system, replacing See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Exhaust System/Service and Repair

the wheels.
Remove the propeller shaft from the viscous coupling/Active on Demand Coupling. See Final drive, replacing, M58, M66 AWD, AW50/51 AWD See:
Transmission and Drivetrain/Differential Assembly/Service and Repair/Final Drive, Replacing.
