MD module (MP1) and CD module (MP2)
The media players play back Mini Discs and compact discs. There are two different media players:

the MD module (MP1) plays Mini Discs
-
the CD module (MP2), which plays compact discs, can be a single disc player or a CD changer for 6 CDs.
The control modules are in the center console.
The media player uses optical serial communication to communicate with other components on the MOST network. This means that all communication
with the media player is via the infotainment control module (ICM). The media players are connected to the audio module (AUD) for access to the
loudspeakers.
Any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored in the control module memory. This information can be read off using VIDA via the data link connector
(DLC) in the car.

Signals
The following table summarizes the input signals to and output signals from the media players. These signals type are only transmitted via MOST
communication. The illustration below displays the same information with the Volvo component designations.
