Roof Rails Front Attachment, a Rattling or Whistling noise.
DESCRIPTION:
Under specific conditions, typically around 50-60 mph, a rattling or whistling noise may be heard from the front roof rail attachment. It may sound like
the noise is originating at the top of the windscreen. The noise can be very intermittent, depending on temperature, cross wind and turbulences around the
car.

SERVICE METHOD:
For cars with a verified customer complaint matching the above description, perform the following steps:
1)
Disassemble both front covers and add tape P/N 9511099 according to pictures shown.
2)
Check on both sides to ensure the two front screws are completely screwed down into the roof (in some cases the screws reached the required
torque before being screwed down completely). Correct torque for the screws is 70 lb in (8 Nm).
3)
Verify that the car is free of noises with a test drive.
