Disconnect the battery negative lead. See Battery, disconnecting See: Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery, Disconnecting.

Remove the intake manifold between the front cover plate and the air cleaner(ACL) housing.

Applies to turbocharged engines: Remove the hose between the charge air cooler (CAC) and the electronic throttle module.
