Solenoid, steering gear, replacement

Preparatory work

Ignition key in position 0.

Only applies to RHD

Remove the steering gear acc. to: Steering gear, replacing See: Steering Gear, Replacing Steering gear, replacing See: Steering Gear, Replacing.

Note! Seal connections to inlet and outlet on the steering gear immediately after removing.

Removing

Lift up the car and remove the front wheel on the left side.

Remove:

-

protective cover under engine (applies to some versions)

-

protection over the drive axle for better access (applies to some versions)

Place a container under the steering gear to collect the oil.

Note! Clean very carefully around the solenoid before removing is started.

Remove:

-

the connector

-

the screws, 2 pcs., for the solenoid

-

the solenoid.
