Tap off the constant velocity joint housing.
Use a brass drift.

Note! Only tap the inner ring. Take care not to damage the bearing race or outer ring.

Cleaning the constant velocity joint housing

The joint can be cleaned when assembled. See Cleaning the constant velocity joint housing - continued.

Thoroughly clean off any dirt and grease from the joint. Blow the joint dry.
For greasing/assembling see Assembly.

When replacing the inner boot

Remove the clamps from the inner boot. Cut the boot and remove it from the shaft.

Note! Clean and blow the inner constant velocity joint dry while assembled.
