Note! The front lifting beam must be equipped with fixture kit 999 7070 Mounting See: Tools and Equipment/999 7070 Mounting as illustrated.
Position lifting beam 999 5716 Reading off tool See: Tools and Equipment/999 5716 Reading off Tool on the wheel arch and directly above the engine
lifting eyelets on the left and right-hand sides.
Fasten lifting hooks 999 5460 Lifting hook See: Tools and Equipment/999 5460 Lifting Hook and 999 5185 HOOK See: Tools and Equipment/999 5185
Hook to the engine lifting lugs. Tighten to light contact.
Raise the car
Removing the sub-frame
Remove the sub-frame. See Sub-frame front, replacing See: Body and Frame/Frame/Subframe/Front Subframe/Service and Repair.
Draining gearbox fluid
Place a container underneath the gearbox. Drain the oil. Measure and note the volume of oil.
Then tighten the plug. Tighten to 40 Nm. Remove the cable harness clamp on the control system cover.
Disconnect the ground lead from the gearbox. Tie up the cable harness and ground lead.
Disconnect the oil cooler return line from the control system cover. Disconnect the oil cooler pipe and hose from the gearbox. Move the pipe to one side.
Seal the hole in the gearbox with a plastic plug.
