Removal

Removing the exhaust system

Remove the exhaust system. See Final drive, replacing See: Service and Repair/Final Drive, Replacing.

Removing the propeller shaft

Remove the propeller shaft from the flange for Active On Demand Coupling. See Final drive, replacing See: Service and Repair/Final Drive, Replacing.

Removing the flange

Remove the nut for the flange. Use counterhold 999 5652 Counterh. See: Tools and Equipment/999 5652 Counterh. with adapter 999 7058 Adapter See:
Tools and Equipment/999 7058 Adapter. Mark the flange in relation to the end of the shaft.
Position a container underneath the Active On Demand Coupling.
Remove the flange. If the flange is stuck on the shaft, use puller 999 5893 Puller See: Tools and Equipment/999 5893 Puller.

Check that the flange mating surface is free of defects. If not, replace the flange.
