The upper chassis number limitations above are very rough. Check the engine number mentioned instead.
Description:
Camshaft end plugs falling out resulting in oil leakage and possible low oil level warning. This can occur with either the intake or exhaust cam plug.
To mitigate the problem the cleaning process as well as a new camshaft plug was introduced in engine plant at engine number - 04010816353.
Note:
The first 6 digits in the engine number indicate production date (format ddmmyy (0401O8xxxxx) and the last 5 digits is the serial number for that
day.
This means that:
06120716354 is before brake point (December 12, 2007)
05010816353 is after brake point (January 5, 2008)
Service:
Install updated cam plug with sealant. Follow procedure on pages below.
1.
Remove upper torque rod
Remove the engine cover.
Remove upper torque rod
Refer to VIDA for torque rod removal.
