SUBJECT:
CPS Plus, No CCM function after engine start
REFERENCE:
VIDA
DESCRIPTION:
Intermittently, The CCM (Climate Control Module) may not function after engine start. No DTCs are posted.
This may happen due to a fault in the signal communication from the ECM (Engine Control Module) during the ignition key handling at start-up. The
CCM will function again after the ignition key is taken out and re-inserted after 10 seconds. To prevent this symptom from occurring, an improved ECM
SW has been developed. Only SI6 engines are affected.
SERVICE:
If the vehicle is within the chassis limitations above, perform an ECM upgrade P/N 30677021) as part of the CPS (customer preparation service) or if
there is a documented customer complaint during the warranty period.
Note:
Vehicles are being upgraded at the Port of Entry as of 9/18/2007. If you receive a VIDA error 134 for the ECM (HW already contains the latest SW
package), no further action is necessary.
