Ignition Timing: Adjustments
Adjust ignition timing with engine at normal operating temperature, choke completely open, distributor vacuum advance hose dis-connected and engine
idling properly. Connect a suitable timing light and tachometer onto engine as per manufacturer's instructions, and set ignition timing to 12° BTDC on
Federal models or 10° BTDC on California models. If ignition timing obtained is not as specified, loosen distributor hold-down bolt and turn distributor
assembly until correct ignition timing, as indicated by timing light, is obtained.
