Removing and installing fresh air blower -V2-
There are different versions of the fresh air blower. Pay attention to assignment → Electronic parts catalogue.
   
Removing
–  Remove the glove compartment → Rep. gr.68.
–  If applicable, remove the headlight range control unit → Rep. gr.94.
–  If applicable, remove the entry and start authorisation control unit → Rep. gr.96.
–  Unplug the connector -6-.
–  Sever the cable tie -5- and lay bare the wiring harness.
  Caution
Risk of irreparable damage to the fresh air blower.
t  If the cable tie holders are detached from the mounting pins at the fresh air blower, the pins may break off.
t  If the mounting pins are broken off, the fresh air blower must be replaced.
–  Screw out the bolts -arrows-.
–  Screw out the bolt -4- through the opening in the central tube -2- with extension piece -3- and joint.
–  Pull the fresh air blower -1- to the rear in the direction of travel out of the air conditioning unit.
  Caution
Fan impeller imbalance.
Do not grasp hold of the impeller of the fresh air blower -V2-. Applying force to the impeller or moving the balancing weights attached to the impeller could cause imbalance and thus operating problems.
Installing
l  Tightening torque → Chapter.
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
–  Check operation of the fresh air blower.
–  Fit the headlight range control unit → Rep. gr.94.
–  Fit the entry and start authorisation control unit → Rep. gr.96.
–  Fit the glove compartment → Rep. gr.68.
