Shift Cable and Selector Cable

Removing

-

Remove the shift mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism ] See: Shifter M/T/Service and Repair/Selector Mechanism.

Bend open the tabs - arrows - of the base plate for selector mechanism with a screwdriver and remove the base plate.

Remove the gasket.

Vehicle through MY 2008

-

Remove the washers - 1 - and - 4 - and pull the cables off the pins.

Vehicles from MY 2008:

Pry the shift and selector cable off the pins.

Remove circlips - 2 to 3 - and remove shift cable and selector cable from selector mechanism housing.

Release the cable retainer - A - for the selector and shift cables - B - as follows:
