Removing and installing selector housing/selector rod > < Installation position of selector mechanism

  Note
Apply grease -G 000 450 02- to all bearings and contact surfaces.
1 - Gear knob
q   Remove and install together with boot
2 - Boot with mounting frame
q   Remove and install together with gear knob
q   Separating from gear knob → Fig.
q   Connect to gear knob before installing → Fig.
3 - Rubber cover
q   Allocate according to → Electronic parts catalogue
4 - Bush
5 - Clip
q   Secures gear knob to gear lever
6 - Clip
7 - Gear lever
q   Removing and installing in selector housing → Chapter
8 - Spacer sleeve
9 - Bolt
q   25 Nm
q   M8 x 25
10 - Selector housing
11 - Selector rod
12 - Bolt
q   20 Nm
13 - Nut
q   25 Nm
14 - Spring
15 - Stop
16 - Bolt
q   25 Nm
q   M8 x 20
q   Coat threads lightly with locking fluid -D 000 600 A2-.
17 - Ball socket
18 - Sleeve
19 - Damper
20 - Torx socket head bolt
q   15 Nm

   
Detaching boot from gear knob and assembling
–  Turn boot inside out.
–  Carefully lever prongs with a screwdriver in direction of -arrow- and simultaneously pull gear knob out.
Assembly is carried out in the reverse order to removal; note the following:
–  Insert gear knob in boot.
–  Push bush onto gear knob and engage.
–  Install gear knob and boot together.
