Adjusting operating rod for manual selector valve > < Removing and installing valve body

Procedure
l  Valve body installed.
–  Remove bolt for steel spring -arrow-.
–  Detach steel spring with operating rod and lever from selector shaft in gearbox.
–  Unhook operating rod from manual selector valve.
  Note
t  Make sure that the manual selector valve does not fall out of the valve body.
t  The bolt with steel spring must always be renewed after removal.
–  Move selector shaft with selector segment to position “1”.
–  Pull manual selector valve slightly out of valve body.

–  Turn manual selector valve -1- so that flat side -arrow- faces operating rod -2-.
–  Push operating rod with lever into manual selector valve, as shown in illustration.
l  Installation position of manual selector valve: flat part of manual selector valve -1- must face gearbox.

–  Insert operating rod -1- from below into collar -arrow- of lever -2- on selector shaft.

–  Attach new steel spring -2- with new bolt -1- to end of operating rod -3--arrow A- and push over operating rod with retaining tab at bottom -arrow B-. At the same time, centralise steel spring at top of collar on lever -arrow A-.
–  Swivel steel spring over lever as far as it will go.
–  Screw in bolt further until it lies flush with bottom edge of lever.
  Note
The bolt is not tightened fully until the operating rod has been adjusted.
–  Adjust operating rod for manual selector valve → Chapter.
