Draining torque converter > < Removing sleeve bearing from turbine shaft

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Oil seal extractor lever -VW 681-
  W00-0154
t  Thrust piece -T10129-
Procedure
l  Gearbox removed → Chapter.
–  Remove torque converter.
–  Secure gearbox to engine and gearbox support → Chapter or position gearbox in installation position on the ATF oil pan.

–  Remove oil seal for torque converter using oil seal extractor lever -VW 681-.
–  Lightly lubricate outer circumference and sealing lips of new oil seal with ATF.
l  Installation position: open side of oil seal points towards gearbox.

–  Drive in torque converter oil seal with thrust piece -T10129- until thrust piece reaches stop.
