Checking fuel level signal wiring
Checking fuel level signal wiring
  Note!
t  Engine control unit receives fuel level signal from instrument cluster.
t  The processed signal is received at contact 12 of the engine control unit and used to establish the cause of certain faults detected (e.g. misfiring).
–  Connect test box -V.A.G 1598/31- to wiring harness for engine control unit. Do not connect engine control unit → Chapter.
–  Check for open circuit and short to positive or earth in the following wiring connections:

12. → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations

–  Rectify any open/short circuit as necessary.
