Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • ◆ Assembly device 3301
  • ◆ Tubular section VW 418 A
  • ◆ Assembly device T10030

Removing

  • ‒ Remove subframe with final drive .
  • ‒ → Apply special tools shown and extract bush by turning spindle.
  •     1 -    Washer

Note:

Spindle must be inserted from underneath for extracting and fitting front bonded rubber bushes at subframe.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Notes:

  • ◆ Replacement bonded rubber bushes are supplied in a sealed plastic bag.
  • ◆ Never use bonded rubber bushes which have been stored loose.
  • ‒ → Fit special tool with bonded rubber bush -4-.
  •     1 -    T10030/3 Spindle
  •     2 -    Chamfered washer
  •     3 -    10030/4 Thrust pad
    • - Collar -arrow- faces bonded rubber bush

Notes:

  • ◆ For fitting, use acid-free assembly lubricant G 294 421 A1 =>General notes, Page 40-33.
  • ◆ Never use grease.
  • ‒ → Then place bonded rubber bush and special tools in position at subframe.
  • ‒ Fit bonded rubber bush by turning spindle.
  •     1 -    Washer
  •     2 -    Installation position of bonded rubber bush in subframe
  • ‒ Install subframe with final drive => Page 42-116.
