Calibration of voltage tap
Influence of rear window on magnetic field sender is determined with heated rear window switched on and off.
t  The A3 is not fitted with a shunt. Voltage is picked off at heated rear window.
t  Vehicle is not to be moved during calibration (heated rear window on/off), as otherwise incorrect calibration values could be recorded.
Indicated on display:

WINDOW
ON
 
>OK 

–  Switch on heated rear window.
–  Use ENTER key to confirm “OK” display.

The test is implemented internally in the navigation unit. Wait for next display.

–  Switch off heated rear window.
–  Use ENTER key to confirm “OK” display.

If calibration is OK, process continues with compass calibration → Chapter.
If however the following appears:

Heated rear window switch not actuated or heated rear window wiring not OK
t  Use current flow diagram to check connectors at switch or heated rear window and repair if necessary.
–  Press ENTER key to continue and repeat voltage tap calibration → Chapter.
Indicated on display if vehicle moved during calibration:

–  Do not move vehicle again.
