Removing and installing front brake caliper (RS 3)
Removing and installing front brake caliper (RS 3)
Removing
–  Raise the vehicle.
–  Remove wheels.
  Note
The pad wear indicator wire is only installed at the left brake caliper.
   
–  Unclip pad wear indicator wire -9- from bracket.
–  Unplug electrical connector from pad wear indicator wire.
–  Unclip brake hose -13- from bracket.
–  Press brake pistons at brake pads slightly back into brake caliper using a suitable tool.
  Note
Take care not to scratch or damage brake caliper.

–  Remove bolts -2-.
–  Detach brake caliper.
  Note
Do not suspend the brake caliper from the brake hose. Secure it to the body with a suitable wire.
Installing
  Note
Renew bolts -2-.
–  Carefully slide brake caliper (with brake pads fitted) over brake disc and install.
  A46-10138
–  Secure brake caliper with new bolts -2-. 200 Nm
–  Fit brake hose -13- in bracket.
–  Connect pad wear indicator wire -9-.
–  Insert pad wear indicator wire in bracket.
Fit wheels → Wheels and tyres; Rep. gr.44.
–  Lower vehicle.
–  Check brake fluid level and top up if necessary.
  WARNING
Firmly depress the brake pedal several times with the vehicle stationary, so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
  WARNING
Before driving vehicle for the first time, make sure function of brakes is OK.
