Removing and installing exhaust system components
Checking exhaust system for leaks
  • ‒ Start engine and leave it idling.
  • ‒ Seal tailpipes for duration of leak test, e.g. cloths, plugs.
  • ‒ Listen for noise at connection points cylinder head/manifold, manifold/turbocharger, turbocharger/catalytic converter etc., to locate any leaks.
  • ‒ Eliminate any leaks found.
