Notes:

◆ The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is actuated from the diesel direct injection system control unit -J248 by way of the EGR valve -N18 to the mechanical EGR valve.
-
◆ The mechanical EGR valve with its conical valve tappet permits varying opening cross-sections with varying valve lift.
-
◆ Clocked actuation means any valve position is possible.
-
◆ The EGR system is shut off after approximately 10 minutes' idling.

◆ For lengthier measurements, restart engine or briefly increase engine speed above idling speed. Then repeat measurement.

◆ Secure all hose connections with standard hose clamps:
