Removing and installing telephone transmitter and receiver unitR36
Removing and installing telephone transmitter and receiver unit -R36-
The telephone transmitter and receiver unit -R36- is located beneath front seat (right-side).
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9-
–  Switch off all electrical equipment.
–  Remove ignition key.
–  When renewing control unit, select „Replacement“ function for appropriate control unit in „Guided Fault Finding“.
To do so, use → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Removing
–  Remove front seat (right-side) → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.72.
–  Fold back floor covering → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.

–  Release electronics box cover -2- and open electronics box -1-.
The telephone transmitter and receiver unit -R36- is only wedged in the electronics box.

–  Pry telephone transmitter and receiver unit -R36--5- out of electronics box -4-.
Applies to MOST bus only
–  Release and unplug connector -2-.
  A91-10989
–  Fit protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9--1- onto MOST bus connector -2-.
All versions
  A97-0760
–  Release and unplug connector -3-.
–  Unplug aerial for Bluetooth -R152--1-.
Installing
–  Install in reverse sequence of removal.
–  Readapt Bluetooth connection between telephone transmitter and receiver unit -R36- and telephone handset -R36- / mobile telephone -R54-.
