Removing and installing engine oil cooler
Removing and installing engine oil cooler
   
Removing
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove intake manifold (top section) → Rep. gr.23.

–  Remove intake manifold (bottom section, right-side) → Rep. gr.23.
–  Remove oil filter housing → Chapter.
–  Remove exhaust gas recirculation control motor -V338- → Chapter.
–  Remove particulate filter: A5 up to vehicle identification no. 8T-8-009 998 → Chapter; A4 (all), A5 from vehicle identification no. 8T-8-009 999 onwards → Chapter.

–  Engine code CAPA: Remove high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.23.
–  Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler → Chapter.

–  Remove nut -1- and turn coolant pipe (top) slightly in direction of -arrow-.
  Note
Disregard -item 2-.
  Note
  A19-10538
Spread out rags round engine oil cooler to catch escaping engine oil.
–  Unscrew bolts -1 ... 4- and detach engine oil cooler.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Engine oil cooler, pressure control valve, oil filter housing and oil pressure switch - exploded view“
  Note
To ensure top coolant pipe is free of leaks, remove top coolant pipe and renew O-ring → Chapter.
–  Install exhaust gas recirculation cooler → Chapter.
–  Engine code CAPA: Install high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.23.
–  Install particulate filter: A5 up to vehicle identification no. 8T-8-009 998 → Chapter; A4 (all), A5 from vehicle identification no. 8T-8-009 999 onwards → Chapter.
–  Install exhaust gas recirculation control motor -V338- → Chapter.
–  Install oil filter housing → Chapter.
–  Install bottom section of intake manifold (right-side) and top section of intake manifold → Rep. gr.23.
–  Change engine oil → Booklet811, → Booklet812 or → Booklet818.
–  Fill up with coolant → Anchor.
