Installing
Note:
^
The crankshaft must not be at TDC at any cylinder when the camshafts are installed. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the valves and
piston crowns.
^
The engine is not to be started for approx. 30 minutes after installing the camshafts. The hydraulic valve compensation elements have to settle
(otherwise valves will strike pistons).
^
After working on the valve gear, turn the engine carefully at least 2 rotations to ensure that none of the valves make contact when the starter
is operated.
-
Insert supporting elements into cylinder head.
-
Install roller rocker fingers -1- so that they touch valve stems and are clipped onto supporting elements -2-.
-
Lubricate running surfaces of camshafts.
-
Insert respective camshaft in camshaft bearings of cylinder head.
