3 Series E46 330xd (M57) TOUR
When cleaning the pressure regulator as set out below, you must
protect the alternator against contamination.
Cover alternator with suitable materials.
Failure to comply with this procedure may result in an alternator
malfunction.
Clean H.P. pump in area of pressure regulator with cold cleaner
and dry with compressed air.
Disconnect plug (1).
Release screws (2).
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 13 53 10AZ.
Pull out pressure regulator (3) at housing by turning by hand.
Caution!
Do not use tools to lever pressure regulator out of
H.P. pump.
Installation:
Before installing pressure regulator (2), check that sealing
rings (1) and white support ring are correctly seated.
Also check sealing rings (1) and white support ring for
damage.
Caution!
Coat all sealing rings with clean diesel fuel.
Turn pressure regulator clockwise by hand and press into H.P.
pump until it contacts sealing surfaces.
Position pressure regulator without using striking tools.
