Check distance between main link (1)
and roof frame link (2).
It must be possible to freely move a
strip of paper (3) when inserted.
Important:
If proven necessary, reworking is not possible.
The convertible top must be replaced.
3. Check position of X-hooks in relation to the openings in the support bracket and
correct if necessary.
Fault profile 1
X-hooks (1) make contact with support
bracket (2) in Y-direction (transverse to
vehicle).
Support bracket (2) must be shifted to
the left or right.
Fault profile 2
X-hooks (1) make contact with the rear
edge of the support bracket (2) in X-
direction (longitudinal to vehicle).
Support bracket (2) must be shifted
towards the rear.
Remedy:
•
Shift the support bracket as described in the repair instructions 54 31 165 .
•
Check alignment of support bracket with respect to the X-hooks.
