Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
Test B: No Low Speed, No High Speed Right Fan
1. Disconnect the harness connector from Coolant Fan Relay 1. With the Ignition Switch in RUN, measure the voltage to ground at Coolant Fan
Relay 1 harness connector terminals 1 and 2.

If battery voltage is at both terminals, go to step 2.

If battery voltage is not at one or both terminals, check circuits 2 or 350 for an open (see schematic).
2. Enter diagnostics and select ECM override ES08. Set diagnostic display to 10. Connect test lamp between terminals 2 and 5 at the Coolant Fan
Relay 1 harness connector.

If test lamp lights, go to step 3.

If test lamp does not light, check circuit 535 for an open or short to battery voltage. If OK, refer to PCM Replacement Check.
3. Connect a fused jumper between terminals 1 and 4 of the Coolant Fan Relay 1 harness connector.

If the Coolant Fans do not run at low speed, leave the fused jumper connected and go to step 4.

If the Coolant Fans run at low speed, check terminal contact at Coolant Fan Relay 1. If OK, replace Coolant Fan Relay 1.
4. Disconnect Coolant Fan Relay 2 and ground terminal 1 of the harness connector.

If the Right Fan runs at high speed, check/replace Coolant Fan Relay 2.

If the Right Fan does not run at high speed, check circuits 532 and 533 for an open to Right Fan. Also check Right Fan terminal contact. If OK,
replace Right Fan.
