Rear Suspension
Strut Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear lower seat cushion. Refer to SEAT CUSHION REPLACEMENT - REAR in SEATS.
2. Remove the rear seat back cushion. If the vehicle is equipped with a fixed rear seat back, refer to SEAT BACK REPLACEMENT - REAR (FULL
WIDTH) in SEATS. If the vehicle is equipped with a split folding rear seat back, refer to SEAT BACK REPLACEMENT - REAR SPLIT
FOLDING in SEATS. If the vehicle is equipped with a child restraint seat, refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - CHILD in SEATS.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Place jack stands under the rear suspension support.
5. Lower the vehicle slightly. Support the weight on the jack stands and not on the suspension arms.
6. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in TIRES AND
WHEELS.
7. Disconnect the ABS speed sensor wire harness clamp from the strut assembly.
8. Remove the flexible hose (4) from the strut assembly (2).
9. Remove the clip from the brake hose bracket.
10. Remove the brake hose (4) from the brake hose bracket.
11. Reconnect the brake pipe (1) to the brake hose (4) in order to prevent the master cylinder reservoir from draining.
12. Remove one nut and the stabilizer shaft joint (4) (if equipped) from the strut assembly (1).
