Removal and Installation

13-015 Expander, Teflon seal
Remove

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.
1. Disconnect the two fluid reservoir hoses.
   Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
Vehicles fitted with Zetec engine

2. Disconnect the pipe and hose from the power steering pump.
1. Disconnect the low pressure hose.
• Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
2. Disconnect the high pressure pipe.
Switch - Pressure - Power Steering - Remove (33 611 0)
3. Remove the power steering pressure switch.
1. Disconnect the pressure switch multiplug.
2. Remove the pressure switch.
All vehicles

4. Disconnect the power steering gear pipes from the clamp (one screw).
Vehicles with TRW steering gear

5. Remove the power steering gear pipe clamp plate (one bolt).
   Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
Vehicles with Wuelfrath steering gear

6. Disconnect the power steering gear pipe unions from the steering gear valve body.
   Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
Vehicles with fluid coolers

7. Remove the crossmember and radiator grilles.
1. Remove the six crossmember grille retaining screws.
2. Remove the two remaining radiator grille retaining screws.

8. Remove the fluid cooler retaining bolts.
All vehicles
9. Lift out the hoses.
Install

10. When necessary, if the fluid pipes are being renewed push the new pipes into the new unions.

11. When necessary, renew the union sealing rings.
1. Push the sealing ring onto the tool.
2. Locate the tool on the union and push on the sealing ring.
12. Refit the components in reverse order.
