Subframe - Remove And Install (14 240 0) > < Front Wheel Alignment - Check (14 111 0)

Removal and Installation
Remove

1. Centralise the steering wheel and lock in position.

2. From inside the passenger compartment remove the flexible coupling to pinion shaft pinch bolt.

3. Remove the engine/transmission mounting bracket upper bolt.
4. Raise the vehicle.

5. Disconnect the gear change linkage.
Vehicles with diesel engines

6. Remove the engine undershield.

7. Detach the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter.

8. Remove the rear roll restrictor centre bolt.
All vehicles

9. Detach the connecting links from the stabiliser bar.

10. Remove the right‐hand engine support bar to subframe retaining bolt.
11. Support the subframe.

12. Slacken the eight subframe retaining bolts. (Support removed for clarity).
13. Carefully lower the subframe.

14. Remove the stabiliser bar (two bolts each side).
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the clamp.
3. Remove the stabiliser bar.
Bushes - Stabiliser Bar Mounting - Renew (14 754 0)
15. Remove the bushings from the stabiliser bar.
Install
16. Install the bushings to the stabiliser bar.

17. Install the stabiliser bar.
1. Position the stabiliser bar.
2. Install the clamps.
3. Install the bolts.
18. Refit the components in reverse order.

19. Align the subframe assembly.

All vehicles

CAUTION:

Ensure that the steering is in the straight ahead position.
