Remover/Installer Selector Shaft Oil Seal

Disassembly
  1. Remove the selector shaft oil seal.
    • Remove the boot.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The shift gate is set in production. If it is detached, a service shift gate must be installed in its place.
    Remove the auxiliary selector shaft.
    1. Remove the bolts from the relay lever mounting.
    1. Remove the auxiliary selector shaft together with the relay levers.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Ease of movement and correct resetting to "neutral" position.
    Check the relay levers and the detent mechanism.
    1. Relay lever (shift).
    1. Relay lever (select).
    1. Return spring (shift mechanism in neutral)

  1. Remove the selector shaft and the reverse gear shift lever.
    1. Remove the bolt, pull out the selector shaft and remove the selector block.
    • Pull out the selector shaft and remove the selector block.
    1. Remove and discard the snap ring and remove the reverse gear shift lever with spring.

Assembly
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Replace the reverse gear shift lever snap ring.
    Install the selector shaft and the reverse gear shift lever.
    1. Insert the selector block.
    1. Insert the selector shaft, coat bolt with universal sealer and install.
    1. Install the reverse gear shift lever with spring and install a new snap ring.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The shift gate is set in production. If it is detached, a service shift gate must be installed in its place.
    Install the auxiliary selector shaft.
    1. Install the auxiliary selector shaft together with the relay levers.
    1. Install the bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Replace the selector shaft oil seal.
    Install the selector shaft oil seal.
    • Fit the boot.
